Delivering Safe Standing at Huddersfield Town’s Accu Stadium

As a lifelong Huddersfield Town supporter, completing the installation of a new safe standing area at the Accu Stadium has been a particularly meaningful project for us at Majestic Construction.

Working alongside the Club, we delivered the new safe standing area within the South Stand as part of its ongoing investment in improving spectator safety and enhancing the matchday experience.

The new area features a rail barrier fitted in front of the existing seating, with each supporter allocated a designated, numbered position. The continuous rail runs across each row, helping to improve crowd management, reduce the risk of overcrowding and create a safer, more controlled standing environment.

Continuing our partnership with Huddersfield Town

We were appointed to deliver the project following a strong relationship with Huddersfield Town that has developed over the past five years.

During this time, we’ve worked with the Club on a number of improvements across the stadium, including a new press area, additional directors’ seating, a large screen installation and water stations designed to help reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles.

The safe standing project is another opportunity for us to support the Club as it continues to invest in its facilities and the supporter experience.

It also builds on our recent renewal as Huddersfield Town’s Official Construction Partner for the 2026/27 season and beyond, under a new two-year agreement.

A project we’re particularly proud of

For me personally, this project has been one I’ve been especially passionate about. As a lifelong Huddersfield Town supporter, it’s a privilege to see the work we deliver have a direct impact on the experience of fellow fans.

Safe standing can help create a more vibrant atmosphere by giving supporters a dedicated space to stand together throughout matches, while maintaining high standards of safety and crowd management.

We’re incredibly proud to have played our part in delivering another important development for the Club and its supporters, and we’re looking forward to seeing the impact it has throughout the season.

Supporting safer stadiums for fans across the region

The introduction of safe standing also sees Huddersfield Town join six other EFL League One clubs in adopting the initiative.

For us, the project demonstrates the value of having an experienced principal contractor that understands the demands of working within live sporting environments.
